1. Generally, it is only used when the roughness evaluation parameter value is large, and it is easy to produce large errors.

2. Impression method: some plastic materials are used to make a block impression, which is attached to the surface to be measured. After removal, the profile shape of the surface to be measured is stored on the impression, and then the surface of the impression is measured to obtain the surface roughness of the original part. For the internal surface of some large parts, it is inconvenient to use instruments to measure, and the impression method can be used to measure indirectly. However, the measurement accuracy of this method is not high and the process is cumbersome.

Contact profiler

The contact type of the surface roughness profiler is the stylus method. The stylus method, also known as the stylus method, is to vertically place a very sharp stylus (a diamond stylus with a radius of micrometer) on the surface to be measured for lateral displacement. The stylus moves its soul vertically with the contour shape of the surface to convert this tiny displacement into electrical signals through the circuit, amplify and operate, and then obtain the roughness parameter value of the working surface. It is mainly divided into inductive piezoelectric inductive type and other types. This instrument has the advantages of good stability, objective and reliable indication, convenient use, etc. Its vertical resolution can reach several nanometers.

Its advantages: large measurement range, high resolution, stable and reliable measurement results, and good repeatability. But there are also many shortcomings: (1) The hardness of diamond measuring head is generally high, which is easy to scratch the workpiece, and is not suitable for measuring the surface of high-quality and soft materials. (2) In order to meet the wear resistance and stiffness requirements of the measuring head, the measuring head shall not be too small and sharp, which may easily affect the measurement accuracy. (3) When measuring the micro surface profile, in order to ensure the accuracy and lateral resolution in the scanning path direction, the feed step is very small, so the measurement speed is not high.
